October : the clean up and start again month.
October to me has always been the clean up and start again month.
Clean up the garden after the last of the summer blooms, prune trees and bushes and clear out all the old debris.
Then: start all over again. Plant some winter shrubs and spring flowering bulbs.
Powerhose the garden furniture and then start indoors.
Tidy up the indoor plants,
We florists use this month to start preparing for Christmas. Making cinnamon bundles , wiring pinecones, making little parcles to incorporate into our beautiful Christmas arrangements.
October is the start of a new season. With lots of newly married couples to show for a very busy wedding season its time to start again, on the festive season.
With eighty five days until the big man arrives to shower us with gifts , we need all this time to prepare .
I personally love the flowers available at this time of year. Amaryllis are coming online. Orchids are coming into their season. Carthamus and its big orange furry head is so pretty in bouquets. Tulips of every colour can be seen blooming in the fields of Holland. Pumpkins are ripening and those that love Halloween are planning the celebrations.
See you all in November
